Robin Fox @ Superdeluxe

Fantastic Melbourne artist Robin Fox, will be making an appearance at Superdeluxe@Artspace (part of the Biennale of Sydney 2010) in this July.

Fox's work is an amazing simulated synaesthetic or cross-modal experience of sound and sight that are intricately linked, and are performed live.

Fox's previous work 'Backscatter' which is an audio-visual work for the cathode ray oscilloscope can be found on Youtube.

Art/Nerd

Calling all air benders, mavericks, middle earth dwellers, terminators and apple heads! You all contribute to the broad spectrum of everything geek, and we want you to show us your arts.

Geekyness and Geekdom has spread like peanut butter, permeating into almost all aspects of life, including the arts. There is more to the contemporary concept of geek than may first come to mind. Bizarre medical remedies, obsessions with word origins, convention junkies and the proverbial comic fiend all lend equal weight to the kingdom of geek.

So whether you leet speak or street speak, get your geek art on and contribute to this unusual geek/art convention.

Exhibiting in a group show at Polymorph costs $37.50 a week, and most group shows go for 4 weeks this covers the cost of the wine and Dj's we have for openings, a quarter page colour ad in Art Almanac, the graphic designer who makes our flyers and the cost of printing those flyers. We take 20% commission from all sales and ask that 2 weeks of the rent be paid at least 10 days in advance, which is non-refundable.

The Dates set for this show are:
Installation: 9th of August
Opening night: 11th of August
De-mount: 6th of September

Amazing Photos of Chaiten Volcano

This is real apocalypse stuff and reminds me just a little of Darth Sidious; but absolutely stunning photography of a natural disaster in action.

Trigger Warning: Dead animal picture included (no gore)
